Week 7 Term 1

This week has been really great. As I was one of the luck students who has hosted a Japanese student, I have found out that they are really kind, and they are always looking to help out while still having fun. While my student Mei has been staying with us she has been very polite, and willing to try anything new such as the food, the sports, activities and the games. She has also taught us how to make and cook Japanese food, how to play Japanese games and how to count in Japanese. Mei is really good at speaking and understanding English, so we haven’t had any difficulties communicating with her. While Mei has been staying with us she has been to lots of places that are different to places in Japan, and she has also experienced lots of thing she can’t experience in Japan. The thing she has most enjoyed in New Zealand was going to Taupo. We did lots of thing over that weekend including parasailing and swimming in the lake. She did everything that we did without complaint, so she has made hosting her really easy, and I’m sure that all of the other host families have found out the same things with their Japanese student.I think that it will be sad to say goodbye, so I will try to make the most of the time I have let with her.

We have also done lots of other fun thing this week. On Tuesday we had WIMS (Waikato Intermediate Middle Schools) volleyball. It was really fun, and overall we came sixth, and the boys came first their team was really good. There was also some more exciting things this week I made it into WIMS touch and the literacy quiz. That means that so far I will have five badges WIMS touch, volleyball, swimming, the literacy quiz and the tough guy and gal challenge. As this week has been so successful I am excited to see what next week brings!
